Corporate Sustainability Reporting to be Required in the EU

A November 28, 2022 Council of the European Union news release https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2022/11/28/council-gives-final-green-light-to-corporate-sustainability-reporting-directive/ advises that “… companies will soon be required to publish detailed information on sustainability matters … [“sustainability matters” means environmental, social and human rights, and governance factors, including sustainability factors defined in point (24) of Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 – See page 89 at https://data.consilium.europa.eu/doc/document/PE-35-2022-INIT/en/pdf] …” - The “Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)” requirements “… are tailored to various company sizes and provides them with sufficient transition period … companies will have to report on how their business model affects their sustainability, and on how external sustainability factors (such as climate change or human right issues) influence their activities …” – The Directive will publish in the EU Journal and are to be implemented by member states 18 months later -#PlasticWaste #SingleUsePlastic #Sustainability @EUCouncil
