According to a December 4, 2020 Nipawin Journal story, Jim Luong is a Dow scientist who was named to the Analytical Scientist’s 100 Power List for the second consecutive year and is the co-leader of Dow’s Gas Chromatography Centre of Expertise – “… Most recently, Luong has been involved in the Plastics Research in Action research project collaboration … [with others] to measure and monitor microplastics in water and sediments with the potential to develop protocols for the sampling, preparation, and characterization of microplastics in aquatic environments. Our reason-for-being/goal/purpose/objective/intent is to convince/inspire/persuade/encourage the food processing industry to establish and fund a public private partnership for the discovery of new food packaging materials that would be digestible by animals (farm animals as well as ubiquitous microbes).
