According to a September 22, 2020 TerraCycle news release, Ocean Spray and TerraCycle have established “… a partnership … [that allows consumers to] send their Ocean Spray® Craisins® dried cranberry products that are in flexible plastic packaging to TerraCycle, where the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products … participants earn points that can be donated to a nonprofit, school or charitable organization … Ocean Spray is [also] working with TerraCycle’s new Loop platform to develop a program where together they will design and launch products in reusable packaging …” – The web link to the news release is included in the post on the home page of Plastic Food Packaging Waste News http://www.pfpw.news at https://pfpw.news/pfpw-news-archives/
Animal Digestible Food Packaging Initiative
Our reason-for-being/goal/purpose/objective/intent is to convince/inspire/persuade/encourage the food processing industry to establish and fund a public private partnership for the discovery of new food packaging materials that would be digestible by animals (farm animals as well as ubiquitous microbes).
