According to an article published in the September 2020 issue of Food Technology Magazine by researchers with Cornell University, titled “Reducing Food Waste via Active Packaging “… developing a sustainable active packaging technology can reduce the growing environmental strain of packaged food products. Doing so would enable a more sustainable and closed-loop food system in which packaging provides more than traditional containment, protection, information, and convenience, but rather is an integral facet of a food’s safety, security, and sustainability from its manufacture to consumption …" #FoodWaste #FoodPackaging
