According to a report published in the July 2020 issue of Marine Pollution Bulletin by researchers with the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Germany and others https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/07/200720112220.htm and https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0025326X20303283 the researchers “… investigated how many microplastic particles would be absorbed in the muscle tissue of young European sea bass after being given feed with extremely high microplastic particle content for a period of four months … only an extremely small percentage of the plastic particles ingested found their way into the fish fillets; the majority were excreted … fish can apparently isolate and excrete these particles before they have a chance to penetrate their tissues … it’s also possible that those microplastic particles detected weren’t actually in the muscle cells, but instead in the tiny amounts of residual blood in the fillets …” #MicroPlastics #PlasticWaste #AWI

Our reason-for-being/goal/purpose/objective/intent is to convince/inspire/persuade/encourage the food processing industry to establish and fund a public private partnership for the discovery of new food packaging materials that would be digestible by animals (farm animals as well as ubiquitous microbes).
