Recycling Leadership Council Launched to “Solve” the Packaging Waste Crisis

On January 15, 2020, the Consumer Brands Association launched the Recycling Leadership Council (RLC) RLC is intended to unite “… a diverse group of stakeholders from consumer-facing industries, packaging companies and the recycling ecosystem to build a public policy framework to fundamentally reimagine the U.S. recycling system … [RLC members] will seek consistency in the recycling system and guide advocacy at the federal, state and local level … [It will] focus on identifying long-term solutions that take precedence over short-term, competitive interests, with the goal of increasing sustainability and significantly reducing waste …” – Among RLC members are the American Beverage Association, Closed Loop Partners, Consumer Brands Association, Consumer Technology Association, Distilled Spirits Council, Food Marketing Institute, Glass Packaging Institute, Household and Commercial Products Association, National Restaurant Association, National Retail Federation, The Recycling Partnership and The Wine Institute – #FoodPackaging #PlasticPackaging #PlasticWaste #Recycling #RecyclingLeadershipCouncil #ConsumerBrandsAssociation
