Ending Plastic Waste

Members of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste support the Development of New Technologies, Ideas, Innovation and Business Models through Public Private Partnerships. This, according to a February 7, 2019 Alliance News Release, which notes that several Alliance members met with US Senators Dan Sullivan (R-AK) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) to discuss how the Alliance will use its collective resources and global expertise to drive solutions to help end plastic waste leaking into the environment. The Alliance will be investing up to $1.5 billion over five years. The investment is intended to be seed money to support the scaling up of new technologies, ideas, innovation and business models. The Senators said they will work on a bill this year, with a focus on encouraging public-private partnerships, a goal shared by the Alliance.
